Rome, Italy — Day Two

Standard

Our second day in Rome was started out by heading to get our Rome & Vatican Pass. If you or anyone you know are heading to Rome then I definitely recommend the pass. It covered the Metro for us, but most importantly let us into 3 attractions and we got to skip the lines! Score! Our first stop was St. Peter’s Basilica! Mr, his Dad, and Bug all climbed to the very top of the dome! So cool! They also got to tour the treasury (which we weren’t allowed to take photos of). It was such a fun time exploring!

Baby ready to explore… and covered in gelato!

Mr., his sisters, and 2/3 of our girls inside! Bug was climbing the dome with her Grandpa at the time. 🙂

A view out into the square from the Basilica.

Mr with his sisters & Baby and Princess. 🙂

It was such a fun day exploring. While Mr. and his Dad explored the treasury his sisters and I took the girls back to our apartment for naps. Then later that evening he and his Dad were able to go to the Vatican Museum and Sistine Chapel on a late-night tour that started at 8pm! The next morning his sisters and I went on the same tour. I think going at night is a better deal. When we went in the morning it was a bit of a zoo. We got to skip the line, but it was SO crowded inside that we felt a bit like herded cattle and it was hard to really even look at anything. I wasn’t even able to take any pictures. Oh well!
