Metz, France!

Standard

Happy girls riding in the back seat! Bug just HAD to ride with her Grandpa Ice Cream and Auntie Jessie!

I am happy to announce that we have crossed ANOTHER country off our list! We decided to take a trip into FRANCE yesterday!! It was a whole lot of fun! We decided to visit the city of Metz, France since it is only about a 2 hour drive from our house. How crazy is that to say? Oh hey, we drive for two hours and get to France. I used to drive for two hours and only ended up at college. 😉

The main point of our visit to Metz was the cathedral. What can I say. We are cathedral junkies.

This particular cathedral was sure worth the drive!

A view of some of the carvings that lined the entrance doorway.

Inside the Cathedral.

Simply beautiful.

This cathedral is particularly known for it’s stain glass windows!

One of my favorite pictures from the day!

A view from the outside! It wasn’t the biggest cathedral, by any means, but it was definitely one of the most beautiful cathedrals that we have visited!

I had to post this one. It has nothing to do with Metz. It just cracks me up. Bug posed like this on purpose. My strange, strange child!

Quite possibly my favorite picture of the day. 🙂 I may be a little bias, though!

The Hays family in front of the Metz Cathedral!

Sorry for the glare! We took a little ‘train’ type tour around Metz and it was hard to take pictures through the windows that were up due to the rainy day. Anyways! This is the temple in Metz.

Ready to take off on a train tour of Metz!

A view as we crossed the Mosselle river back at the Temple and Metz. Fun fact: We visited this river last year when we went to Cochem with our friends Sarah and Randy! It was fun to visit the same river in two countries!

If you would like to see more pictures from our time in Metz you can view the entire album HERE.

Tomorrow we have one more Germany adventure in store before we get to check another country off our list later this week. Well, technically two considering that The Vatican is it’s own country. Thats right! We are heading to ROME!

  1. Looks like you are having a great time as usual. The cathdral must be breath-taking in person. Have a wonderful time in Rome.
